Spain, voted best tourist destination by Britons at the 2025 Sun Travel Awards: "It has world-class cities."

Spain has been chosen as the Best Coastal Distance Destination in the 2025 Sun Travel Awards , awarded annually by The Sun newspaper based on the votes of its readers.

The London newspaper highlights its "sun-drenched coasts and world-class city breaks," as well as "vibrant cuisine," making it "no surprise it remains a favorite."

In The Sun readers' vote, Spain was followed by two other Mediterranean countries: Greece and Italy. In 2024, it is estimated that nearly 18 million Britons will have visited Spain.

As for long-haul destinations, the Caribbean takes the lead, followed by the United States and Thailand.

The Sun Travel Awards also recognize the best airline (Emirates), the best short-haul operator (Jet2holidays), and the best long-haul operator (Virgin Holidays).

Disney's California theme park is the best overall attraction, followed by Universal Orlando and Disney Paris. Disney Cruise Line was named the best cruise for families.
